Thanks to everyone who took last week’s poll!
About 75% of you said we should allow UV-based organizations to list events they host or sponsor outside the valley.
35% said we shouldn’t allow listings of online/virtual events by non-UV organizations. I also received individual contact from concerned members who said that if UV CONNECT becomes a listing dumpsite for online events, its mission will be adversely affected. I agree.
So, we WILL begin accepting listings of events outside the valley that are hosted, produced, or sponsored by Utah Valley-based organizations. We will continue to maintain editorial control over audience fit and retain the right to reject any listing (see event listing guidelines here).
We will continue NOT to accept listings for online/virtual events hosted or produced by non-UV organizations. (Thank you for the thoughtful, engaged individual responses that helped clarify your views.)
